Elections

Every three years the River Management Society voting membership elects four national officers: President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. The next election for National officers will take place in 2011 for the 2012-2014 term. Below is a typical election timeline:

March - Call for nominations

May - Nominations (via mail, email or fax) due (Professional and Lifetime member may hold office)

July - Online voting period of one month (Professional and Lifetime member may vote)

August - Election results available

January of the following year - Elected officers take office and assume duties described in the National Officer Roles.

The time commitment for each officer varies. All national officers are expected to participate on a monthly conference call and attend an annual three-day board meeting. Cost of travel to the annual board meeting is covered by the individual's employer or by RMS.
