River Ranger Rendezvous

The River Ranger Rendezvous, hosted by River Management Society, is an annual workshop geared toward river rangers responsible for the day-to-day management of our nation’s rivers. The workshop is an opportunity for participants to share leadership and management ideas, build skills related to their everyday job duties, and connect with other river rangers.

Join us July 25-29, 2023 on the North Fork of the Flathead River!

The Flathead National Forest, Hungry Horse-Glacier View Ranger District, is partnering with the River Management Society’s Northwest Chapter to host the 2023 River Ranger Rendezvous on the Wild & Scenic North Fork of the Flathead River in NW Montana. The section we’ll be floating is Class I-II and meanders through a glacial valley at the western edge of Glacier National Park. Rafts, inflatable kayaks, and canoes are craft that will do well on this section. This trip is geared towards river rangers nationwide as a chance to learn, network, and explore a new river.

They are the eyes, ears, heart and soul of river management in the United States today and represent the leaders who will shape policy and practice for the next generation. They are our future and if we can make it possible for them to know and feel the community they constitute, we should be proud!" - 2021 attendee
