RMS Journal

The RMS Journal is a publication whose articles highlight the work of river professionals, by river professionals. It is published quarterly and features one of our regional chapters on a rotating schedule. Individual and Lifetime River Management Society (RMS) members and primary contacts for Organizational memberships can choose to receive a print version of the RMS Journal as a membership benefit; all other members receive the digital edition. The most recent issue can be found publicly on the RMS homepage; past issues are available online to members.

Journal Advertising

Advertise your product or service efficiently and effectively to this targeted audience of river managers and planners, river and watershed organization leaders and members; professors and students of outdoor resource planning, river science, policy and recreation; outdoor industry company owners and managers, and hydropower recreation experts. Contact RMS at [email protected] for advertising rates and specifications, and packages for the RMS site, National Rivers Project and partnership opportunities.

Journal Submissions

There is no minimum or maximum length requirement. Most articles are 1-2 pages (500-1000 words) with photos, images, and/or figures. Images must be at least 300 dpi (over 1MB in size).

Submit articles as a Word document or Google Document to your RMS chapter officers. For questions about chapter-related content or officers, contact the Executive Director. For questions about content-appropriateness, contact the Editor.

Submit photos and graphics as individual image files (e.g., TIFF, JPG, PNG, GIF, PDF). Submissions may have embedded photos in the Word document to indicate placement and provide captions, but please also send individual photo files.

Articles will be reformatted in lnDesign, so will not necessarily "look" like the original submission.

Articles may be edited for length and clarity, but opinions will not be altered. Authors will be contacted if significant revisions are needed.
