Understanding the Needs of Your Site and Reach

River Access Planning Series - Part 1 of 2
Participants will be introduced to and practice using the newly developed worksheets that accompany Steps 1 and 2 of the River Access Planning Guide. At the completion of the seminar, participants will have the knowledge and skills to capture all the primarily pertinent assumptions and influences necessary to begin an access site design for their own river sites, with thoughtful, thorough consideration for reaches between sites. Upon completion of this seminar, participants will be able to:
  • Apply the draft worksheets that accompany Steps 1 and 2 of the River Access Planning Guide to the planning process at their river sites and connect system-wide planning with site-scale design.
  • Research precedent examples of river access sites and consider various design elements to meet visitors' needs and recreational interests.

The next seminar in the series is set for March 15 at 2 p.m. ET. Details coming soon!
