Introduction to Section 7 of the WSR Act

Wild and Scenic Webinar Series 

In the third webinar of the series, participants learn how to determine whether Section 7 applies to a proposed project, and what standards should be used to evaluate projects where Section 7 does apply.

Dave Cernicek
 

David Cernicek lives in Jackson Hole, Wyoming and works as the River Manager for the Bridger-Teton National Forest overseeing the Snake River Headwaters Wild & Scenic Designation.  He is a member of the Interagency Wild & Scenic Rivers Coordinating Council (IWSRCC).

 
Kristen Thrall

Kristen Thrall is the Recreation Program Manager for the Huron-Manistee National Forests, home of five Wild and Scenic Rivers in the lower peninsula of Michigan. Working with partners, managing commercial uses and recreation connected to these rivers are her primary duties. She serves as the USFS representative on the MMAC (Manistee-Muskegon-Au Sable Coordination) team whose purpose is to share information, resolve issues and overall implementation of Consumer’s Energy FERC license requirements for 11 hydropower projects. Prior positions took her Montana where she worked on a FS Enterprise Team on a variety of recreation and planning projects supporting the Forest Service, BLM and FWS. Kristen also served in the Peace Corps as an agroforestry extentionist in Paraguay. Kristen holds a Bachelors of Fine Arts from Albion College and a Masters in Forestry from Michigan Technological University.

Registration

The series is offered at no cost to RMS members as a benefit of membership, and for $15 per webinar for non-members. Membership in RMS is available for $60 annually for Individual members, so joining offers a great value for new members, in addition to the other benefits they receive throughout the year.
