Exploring the new National Wild and Scenic Rivers System website

Nov. 14| 3:30 - 4:30 p.m. ET

Anyone who manages or advocates for Wild and Scenic Rivers should be familiar with the National Wild and Scenic Rivers System website www.rivers.gov. The Interagency Wild and Scenic Coordinating Council recently revamped the website (an enormous project!) so that both river managers and the public could easily learn more about their rivers.

So what’s changed? What’s new? How do you use the map and search functions to identify rivers by state, classification, or outstandingly remarkable values? Join us for a tour with Dan Haas, one of the founders of the original site and the project lead for the development of the new site, as he shows us around, takes questions and invites feedback.

About RMS River Management Roundtables

Each month, the River Management Society hosts virtual conversations with professional river, greenway, and water trails leaders, planners, and managers whose community, region, state and federal river will benefit from the experiences of peer-to-peer sharing. Our goal is to facilitate an open forum to support your work managing rivers. We work together to tackle common issues by asking questions, sharing solutions and building comradery.
