Appreciating Difference – There's a flip side to everything

Have you experienced a time when you didn't understand or were unfamiliar with cultural rules or norms? Join us as we explore how important it is to be aware of our own cultural identity before going through a mini-simulation that provides participants with perspectives of what it is like to be a cultural outsider.
Our objectives are to:
- Explore cultural self-awareness
- Briefly experience dissonance and discomfort
- Gain an awareness of cultural difference
- Begin to develop strategies for dealing with difference
About RMS River Management Roundtables
Each month, the River Management Society hosts virtual conversations with professional river, greenway, and water trails leaders, planners, and managers whose community, region, state and federal river will benefit from the experiences of peer-to-peer sharing.
