Meetings and Events
The RMS serves the river management profession by providing opportunities for river managers and other river professionals to meet, learn from one another, initiate valuable professional networks, and lasting professional friendships.
Besides publishing our quarterly RMS Journal and special publications, supporting river management-related projects, and providing value to members via weekly and monthly electronic communication the organization hosts, coordinates, and/or sponsors international biennial symposia, workshops in the non-symposium years, annual River Ranger Rendezvous hosted by the Southwest or Northwest Chapters (at least until another chapter steps in to take a turn!), and chapter meetings, which often occur on and near rivers.
We are proud to have produced the following
Managing Rivers in Changing Climes: Training Tomorrow's River Professionals (2014) in Denver, Colorado
2012 North American River Management Symposium in Asheville, North Carolina with local partner RiverLink,
2013 River Crossings: Linking Communities in partnership with the Tamarisk Coalition
2013 River Rangers Rendezvous
2015 River Ranger Rendezvous - August 11-13, 2015
The 2015 River Ranger Rendezvous will place at and on the Green River in Dinosaur National Monument, Colorado.
The packed-with-information schedule includes hearing from river managers from the Green and other rivers in Colorado, on topics ranging from the wildly successful Weed Warrior riparian restoration, visitor encounters, and hands on safety skills.
We have just completed a full season of RMS Webinars (2014-2015)! Descriptions, abstracts and recordings are posted here.
...and we'll post it as soon as possible!
