Meetings and Events

The RMS  serves the river management profession by providing opportunities for river managers and other river professionals to meet, learn from one another, initiate valuable professional networks, and lasting professional friendships.

Besides publishing our quarterly RMS Journal and special publications, supporting river management-related projects, and providing value to members via weekly and monthly electronic communication the organization hosts, coordinates, and/or sponsors international biennial symposia, workshops in the non-symposium years, annual River Ranger Rendezvous hosted by the Southwest or Northwest Chapters (at least until another chapter steps in to take a turn!), and chapter meetings, which often occur on and near rivers.

This year we are proud to have produced the 2012 North American River Management Symposium April 24-26 in Asheville, North Carolina with local partner RiverLink, and the 2012 River Ranger Rendezvous in the Northwest. RMS chapters will conduct a variety of trips.

River Crossings: Linking River Communities

We are well into planning River Crossings: Linking River Communities March 11-15, 2013  in Grand Junction, Colorado.  This research conference and workshop will take place on the campus of Colorado Mesa University in collaboration with The Tamarisk Coalition, the International Submerged Lands Confference and the Water Center at Colorado Mesa University. See Workshops for more information!

If you are an RMS member, we encourage you to post an upcoming river management - related event such as a chapter trip, a colleague's speaking engagement, or a training hosted by your organization, just fill out this
