Steve Young has worked for the National Park Service since 2000 . Before that he worked for numerous guiding companies on a multitude of ri ver sections and land skills. Born into a family that spent a lot of time e xploring, back packing, canoeing and exploring the void areas of maps. Stev e has spent a fair amount of time supporting numerous other agencies and fi nds it important to work with cooperators. "You cannot do more with less! Y ou can only do more with better cooperation with others". Steve is also the 2022 Outstanding Contribution to River Management RMS Award recipient. | |

got his start paddling and playing in the water during early childhood cano
e trips to the Adirondacks in upstate New York. After a brief diversion as
a competitive swimmer and water polo player through high school and college
, Tom came back to paddling and began his first serious whitewater while on
a trip to Japan in 1992 and shortly thereafter became a full-fledged fanat
ic with the University of Wisconsin Hoofers. Tom has traveled across the co
untry and around the globe in search of great rivers; in 2003 he completed
a final descent of the Yangtze River through the Three Gorges, before the g
ates were closed on the world's largest dam. | |
