Join RMS SE Chapter leaders, New River Gorge National Park staff, and local outfitters and non-profit partners (including the New River Conservancy and others) for a weekend on the New River in West Virginia! We'll be lodging at the National Park Service's Camp Burnwood Friday and Saturday nights, and rafting the Upper on Saturday and the Gorge on Sunday. All participants will ride in professionally-guided rafts (no personal boats allowed on this trip). The registration fee includes space at the group campsite, Saturday's lunch and dinner, Sunday's lunch, and guided raft trips both days (including equipment and shuttle). Friday dinner and all breakfasts are on your own, and you'll need to bring your own camping gear. Itinerary: 

• Friday August 21: Arrive at Camp Burnwood in the afternoon/evening, dinner on your own, hang out with fellow trip participants.
• Saturday August 22: Raft the Upper New River (McCreery - Stone Cliff, class II-III), catered lunch on the river, presentations from partners, group dinner at Camp Burnwood.
• Sunday August 23: Raft the New River Gorge (Cunard to Fayette Station, class III-IV), lunch on the river, depart.

This trip is open to anyone who studies, manages or protects rivers! The deadline to register is Aug. 14, 2026.
