Real-World Applications of Visitor Use Management on Wild and Scenic Rivers
Wednesday, June 18, 2025, 2:00 PM - 3:30 PM EDT
Category: Events

Join us for an interactive webinar exploring how the Interagency Visitor Use Management Council’s (IVUMC) Visitor Use Management (VUM) Planning Framework can be applied to river management. Participants will gain an understanding of the four elements of the VUM Framework, learn how they align with components of Comprehensive River Management Plans (CRMPs), and see real-world examples of how these strategies have been implemented in the field.
This session will also provide an opportunity for collaborative problem-solving. Participants are encouraged to bring a specific visitor-caused impact issue from their own river site. Through small group discussions, attendees will explore how elements of the VUM Framework can be used to address challenges and mitigate impacts. The webinar will conclude with a large group discussion and Q&A, allowing for deeper engagement with peers and experts.
Whether you are actively developing a CRMP or managing visitor use along a river, this webinar will provide practical insights and tools to support sustainable, experience-driven river management.
