Bank Stabilization on Wild and Scenic Rivers SolvedVirtual Webinar with the River Training CenterBank stabilization projects on Wild and Scenic Rivers (WSR) are quite challenging and almost always require a Section 7 determination by a WSR manager. This webinar is intended to give property owners and WSR managers a better understanding of fluvial geomorphology (i.e., river dynamics) and bank erosion processes that will help in deciding if bank stabilization is needed at a given site. For situations when stabilization is required to protect critical infrastructure or WSR values, the webinar will also outline methods for selecting stabilization techniques that are effective and most consistent with WSR values. Participants will be introduced to new guidance materials developed specifically for WSR managers (but useful to others as well) that detail basic concepts in fluvial geomorphology, explain bank stabilization measures, and provide resources to assist in better understanding and contextualizing erosion problems in their local watersheds.
