Session 1: The Importance of Internships and NetworkingTuesday, Oct. 20 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. ET on ZoomJoin us to hear from recent graduates of the River Studies and Leadership Certificate (RSLC) program! Given the challenges related to the evolving nature and increased competitiveness of job-seeking, people are finding jobs that align with their interests and experience. We are excited to host a discussion about approaches to seeking and applying for jobs from those who are indeed working as river professionals. They will share their stories and experiences related to internships and permanent positions they have landed and and factors that they feel 1) have helped them rise to the top of applicant lists and progressed along in their professions and 2) their advice for students and fellow early career colleagues to approach to matching interests, expertise and a rewarding professional path. Session 2: Applying for Federal Jobs in Uncertain TimesWednesday, Oct. 28 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. ET on ZoomJob-seeking today is extremely competitive, weird, and potentially fragile. However, in the face of uncertainty, it doesn’t hurt to learn where opportunities might be for next summer, if not for seasonal and possibly permanent positions. We will welcome partners who, though they may not pull out their crystal balls, will point to possible employment opportunities and scenarios worth remembering as the Fall and Winter approach. Session 3: The Right-Sized Organization for Your First JobWednesday, Nov. 4 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. ET on ZoomYour first job can look very different depending on the size and type of organization you join. Their perspectives can help you think through what you value in a workplace as you take your next professional step. Session 4: AI and Your Job SearchWednesday, November 10 from 2:00 - 3:00 p.m. ET on ZoomHow can AI help you land your next job, and what should you avoid?
