Welcome to the website for the 2004 River Management
Society Symposium!
On behalf of the 2004 Symposium Committee...I would like to invite you
to join us for the 7th Biennial River Management Society Symposium, in Lake Tahoe, California,
from May 3-7.
A wonderful group of individuals has been working diligently to bring you
an extremely worthwhile program. From issues within the Klamath River Basin
to challenges facing rivers across the continent, a diversity of topics,
workshops, and presenters will stimulate, educate, and hopefully provoke
you to re-think and re-evaluate ways to address concerns within your own
region, watershed, and area of expertise. To round out and complement the
science, we have included a wide range of field trips, entertainment, and
opportunities for you to bump elbows with other professionals who also
have a love of river systems and a desire for improved holistic river management.
Located at 6,400 feet above sea level in the Sierra Nevada Mountain Range,
Lake Tahoe in May is truly a wonderful location for a symposium. The facility
where we will be hosting the symposium is the beautiful and first-class
Resort at Squaw Creek, located on the northwestern shore of Lake Tahoe.
The mountains that surround the Tahoe basin offer world-class winter recreation,
even in May during a year with normal snowfall amounts. This is in contrast
to the beautiful spring-like conditions found around Lake Tahoe at or near
lake level. Please be sure to pass on information of this symposium to
others you feel might be interested in attending so that they too can experience
this incredible opportunity. We look forward to seeing you in May.
