Register by March 1, 2008, (postmarked on or before) to receive the early discount. After March 1, registrations will be accepted on a space-available basis at the higher registration rates. To ensure a reduced rate at the Eastland Park Hotel, make your reservation by April 11, 2008.

Refunds will be mailed after the symposium to those who cancel in writing prior to April 11, 2008 (postmarked on or before). Any cancellations postmarked after April 11, as well as “no shows,” will not be eligible for refunds. All refunds are subject to a $30 processing fee.

Lodging

A block of rooms has been reserved at the Eastland Park Hotel located in downtown Portland, Maine, in the heart of the arts district. The Eastland provides a full-service restaurant and the Top of the East, Portland’s only rooftop lounge. The Eastland is within walking distance of quaint shopping, the waterfront, numerous restaurants and pubs, and the Old Port.

To make a room reservation, call the Eastland Park Hotel at (888) 671-8008 or (207) 775-5411 and mention the River Management Society to receive the special group rate. Rates are $85 per room per night based on single or double occupancy. In order to guarantee this rate, reservations must be made by April 11, 2008.

Directions to Eastland Park Hotel
The Eastland Park is located in the center of Maine’s largest port city, just minutes from the Portland International Jetport (PWM) and the Portland International Ferry terminal. The Eastland is also convenient to Interstate 295 and the Maine Turnpike. A courtesy hotel shuttle van is available upon request, or taxi service to the Eastland Park Hotel is $11 one way.

Driving Directions from I-95: Take I-95 to I-295. Take exit 6-A (Forest Avenue South) and turn right, onto Forest Avenue and travel three blocks to Congress Street. Take a right onto Congress Street. Turn right on High Street. The hotel entrance is on the right side of the road.

Parking is available next door to the hotel in the independently owned Gateway Garage. The overnight fee is reduced for hotel guests to $11 (no in and out privileges). Please remember to bring your parking ticket to the front desk so it can be stamped for your discount.
