The River Management Society is a national non-profit professional
society. The mission of the RMS is to assist river professionals in their
efforts to provide for the health of river ecosystems for today and tomorrow.
The membership is organized into seven U.S. Chapters, as well as
a Canadian Chapter. Each Chapter holds meetings and events to discuss issues
on a local level and build lasting partnerships, networks, and friendships.

In 1987, the seven mainstem Missouri River state fish and wildlife
agencies formed the non-profit MRNRC, whose mission is to promote and facilitate
the preservation, conservation, and enhancement of the natural resources
of the Missouri River system. The MRNRC membership consists of seven voting
delegates, representing the state resource management agencies, and eleven
ex-officio members, representing federal agencies with river management responsibilities
or interests. The MRNRC sponsors three technical sections: Fish, Wildlife,
and Tern and Plover. |
