RMS LINKS
The organizations below either provide information on rivers or differing
points of view. The River Management Society does not necessarily endorse
the positions, policies, or ideas of these organizations. The RMS does, however,
endorse the idea of spirited and lively debate. Considering the views of other
organizations is important to the growth of new ideas and the development
of sound river management policies.
The management of Wild and Scenic Rivers
is an important function of many RMS members. The RMS has been instrumental
in developing the first ever brochure on the Wild and Scenic Rivers
Act, updating the map of the National System, coordinating a symposium
for the 30th anniversary of the Act, and many other activities. RMS
members sit on the
Interagency Wild and Scenic Rivers Coordinating Council, which has
produced a Reference Guide containing many papers on implementing the
Act. To download those papers, click
