INTERAGENCY RIVER MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP
Every other year, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM), Forest Service (FS),
National Park Service (NPS) and Fish and Wildlife Service (FWS) take turns
hosting an Interagency River Management Workshop. The Bureau of Land Management
hosted the 2005 workshop in Salt Lake City, Utah and the 2007 workshop in
Missoula, MT is being hosted by the Forest Service.
These workshops are open to everyone (not just agency personnel) and are designed
to be interactive and address timely river management topics. They also provide
great networking, problem-solving and training opportunities for those involved
with rivers. The River Management Society is a proud co-sponsor of the Interagency
Workshops.

The Interagency River Manager's Workshop was held May 21-24, 2007 at the Holiday Inn, Parkside in Missoula, Montana. Missoula is a great river town and provided an ideal venue for discussions on dam removal and river restoration (Milltown Dam on the Clark Fork River), community efforts in river restoration (Brennan's Wave) and management of river recreation programs (Blackfoot and Alberton Gorge). The week included a field trip to one of the many outstanding rivers in the area.
